SHILLONG:

The MDC of Resubelpara Rinaldo K. Sangma has written to the Executive Engineer of Public Works Department, North Garo Hills requesting the officer to intervene, inspect and speed up the pending Bridge and Road constructions in his constituency.

Sangma said that the delay of these constructions has been posing serious problems and has cut off major road communications for hundreds of villages as these routes are the main lifelines for office goers, daily wage earners and the public.

“There have been many recent incidents where sick and pregnant women being transported to hospitals and requiring medical emergencies were disrupted because of these road inconveniences,” he said.

Sangma said that further delay in the completion of these projects is likely to cause serious livelihood, life and death problems in the long run.

He has urged the officer to direct the stake holders and contractors of the roads and bridges to speed up construction works for the convenience of the people.

Some roads are Motchor to Ransel PMGSY road construction via Boda-Apal, Chidaret Bridge and Subway, Damra to Beru Bari (NH-51) road via Resubelpara.
