Meghalaya: Public representatives petition Hek to start dedicated COVID-19 Care Centres at Sohra and Ichamati
The public representatives of the Shella and Sohra constituency have petitioned the Health Minister A.L. Hek on the need to start dedicated COVID-19 Care Centres at Sohra and lchamati.
The MDC of Sohra, Titos Chyne who is also the CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), MLA of Shella Balajied Synrem and MDC of Shella Teinwell Dkhar wrote that the areas of Sohra and Shella are also witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases.
In this connection, the representatives have requested Hek to start a dedicated COVID-19 care centre within Sohra and Ichamati CHC to facilitate accessible and speedy treatment of COVID 19 patients.
“This will ease the burden of the already-stretched health care workers of Shillong and also prevent overwhelming of the Health care system in the Hospitals of Shillong”, the letter said.
