Meghalaya: Re-examination of students who are high-risk contacts in June, says Hek

The Health Minister also said that as for those who are positive, they must produce their positive certificate.

Meghalaya Health Minister Alexander Laloo Hek on Friday said that the government will conduct a re-examination of students who are high-risk contacts of COVID patients in June.

Speaking to media persons, he said, “The high-risk contacts should stay home and can get their re-examination done in June.” 

The Health Minister also said that as for those who are positive, they must produce their positive certificate.

As for vaccination for jail inmates, Hek said that the prison is a vulnerable area and said that the vaccination is open now and everybody will be provided with the vaccination in totality.

Asked, he said that Meghalaya has no shortage of oxygen supplies for 100 beds and if there is a shortage, the government will supply the needful.

Hek also said that the state has recognised TB Hospital at Umsawli and the new building at Ganesh Das Hospital will be designated as a COVID hospital.  

It is a 300 bedded complete covid hospital.
