Social activist Angela Rangad, hawkers hold rally outside Meghalaya Secretariat
Social Activist Angela Rangad on Wednesday, July 28th, carried out a rally outside the Meghalaya secretariat along with several hawkers after being forced to vacate the location where she had earlier held a sit-in-demonstration (at the entry gate of the secretariat).
Earlier today, the East Khasi Hills district administration had imposed Section 144 of Crpc prohibiting any kind of protest in and around the administrative area.
Speaking to media persons, Rangad said that though the government has called for talks, there is no assurance that the government will solve the issue and that's why carrying out a rally outside was necessary.
