Police arrest three for attempt to "commit" dacoity, two escape

West Garo Hills (WGH) Police nabbed three persons from Gondagre village area on Tuesday night for allegedly attempting to commit dacoity. The police have recovered a dao (machete) from their possession.

"A case is being registered and investigation is on. However, two dacoits managed to escape," said WGH superintendent of Police, Vivekanand Singh Rathore.

Crediting the "vigilant" people of the area, Rathore stated that the arrest could be possible for the locals’ alertness and support. The WGH police have requested the general public to remain watchful and inform the authorities about any suspicious incident or people.
