Meghalaya: One held for alleged involvement in the murder of two women in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN:

West Khasi Hills (WKH) police, on Wednesday morning, arrested one person for his alleged involvement in the murder of two women at Nongstoin on Monday night.

The arrest was made 24 hours after the case was registered, confirmed WKH SP Herbert G Lyngdoh.

Lyngdoh said that the assailant seemed to know the house owner, Plesis Syiem, as there was no sign of forced entry into the house. He, however, refused to divulge any more details saying that the investigation is still ongoing.

Two women identified as Phlesis Syiem (79) and her maid Maitlynti Lyngdoh Marshillong (25) of Tiehsaw village in Nongstoin were murdered on the evening of August 23.
