One dead in car-truck collision at Umroi Bypass Road, Ri Bhoi
There were two people in the car. While the driver succumbed to his injuries, the other was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital, the police said.
One person died in a road accident at Umroi Bypass Road, Ri Bhoi on the morning of October 20. The person has been identified as Azaz Ahsan Rahmani of Badarpur, Karimganj, Assam.
A car (AS 11 G 7819), heading towards Guwahati from Silchar, lost control and stirred to the wrong side of the road when it hit a truck (NL 01AA 9137) coming from the opposite direction, said informed police.
There were two people in the car. While the driver succumbed to his injuries, the other was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital, police added.
According to reports, after preliminary investigation and completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for post-mortem.
