NIT Meghalaya conducts COVID-19 vaccination drive in Shillong

Dean and COVID Response Committee Chairman, Dr A. Banerjee has informed that another round of vaccination drive will be conducted soon for the students of the institute and the local residents.

SHILLONG:

The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya, together with the state's health department conducted a COVID-19 vaccination camp recently.

The vaccination drive was held at the institute’s campus for people aged between 18-44 years.

A statement released from NIT stated that around 150 people attended the inoculation drive, including employees of NIT.

Speaking about the camp, the Director of NIT, Prof. B.B Biswal, said that the vaccination drive is one of the many outreach activities organised by the institute keeping in mind the current COVID situation.

“With the current COVID-19 surge reported from across the globe, it has become a test for the health system to tackle the crisis. The capacity of medical care has been increased significantly by hospitals, communities, localities and institutions,” the NIT authorities stated.
