Meghalaya: Villages under Mawrynkneng feeder to experience three-day power shutdown

The Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) has informed that there will be a power shutdown for three days in villages located under Mawryngkneng feeder in East Khasi Hills district due to installation of 220KV tower at Lamlyer village near Umphyrnai.

According to MeECL notification, Power Grid has requested a shutdown of 11KV Mawryngkneng feeder for three days from 10 am to 4 pm for the erection of 220KV tower at Lamlyer village near Umphyrnai.

"This was a long pending right of way (RoW) issue which was recently resolved with the intervention of Power Minister, local MLA Lambor Malgniang and MeECL," MeECL posted on Facebook.

The shutdown will occur for three days on the 19th, 22nd & 24th February 2021.

"All the headmen of the villages affected under Mawryngkneng feeder have been informed accordingly to cooperate. Inconvenience is regretted," MeECL added.
