Meghalaya: Trinity Saioo and AIDS Activist Jahnabi Goswami felicitated with ‘USTM Social Work Excellence Award 2021’

NONGPOH:

The Department of Social Works, of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya on March 16 observed World Social Work Day with great enthusiasm by honouring (Padmashree) Trinity Saioo of Meghalaya and Jahnabi Goswami, HIV AIDS Activist of Assam with the USTM Social Work Excellence Award 2021.

Saioo and Goswami appealed to the students to work selflessly for the betterment of the society, adding that nothing in the world can give more peace than helping the needy people.

“Fighting with social discrimination and stigma is the worst thing faced by the HIV AIDS sufferers,” Goswami mentioned.

The occasion was attended by Dr (Padmashree) Kushal Konwar Sarma, Head, Surgery & Radiology College of Veterinary Science, Guwahati,, Faculty members, administrative officials and the students of the university.
