Meghalaya: Three from East Khasi Hills, two from Ri Bhoi test positive for Omicron variant

According to sources, of the four eligible (since the fifth is a minor), for vaccine, two of the positive patients are vaccinated while the status of the other two were not available.

Meghalaya recorded five Omicron cases on December 4, officials of the Health Department informed here.

According to Health authorities, of the five cases detected in the state, three are from East Khasi Hills district (Laitumkhrah, Langkyrding and Happy Valley), and two are from from Saiden village in Ri-Bhoi.

Sources informed that of the five cases, four are females, and one is a minor boy, from Assam.

According to sources, of the four eligible (since the fifth is a minor), for vaccine, two of the positive patients are vaccinated while the status of the other two were not available. 

One of the female, who returned from the United States of America is vaccinated with Moderna and is currently in home isolation at Happy Valley, while the one who returned from Delhi, a nun working at the Nazareth Hospital, was vaccinated with Covishield. She is also in home isolation. 

Meanwhile, the tourist from Assam, was had stayed at a guest house in Langkyrding, and whose sample was taken on December 21, has left for his home town.
