Meghalaya: Thousands await outcome of Assembly’s Special Session on ILP (in pics)

SHILLONG | DEC 19, 2019:

The Meghalaya Assembly today unanimously passed the official resolution to urge upon the Centre to implement 'The Inner Line' under the Eastern Bengal Frontier Regulation, 1873 in the State of Meghalaya during the one-day special session of the Meghalaya Assembly Legislative Assembly.

All the 60 MLAs from both the ruling and opposition and across party lines voted in favour of the official resolution which Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma termed as a historic day of the State.

While the discussion on the official resolution was going on, people in large numbers including members of various civil societies groups had gathered at the State Central Library premises right from the morning to know on the outcome if the Assembly had adopted the official resolution.
