Meghalaya: Seventy-year-old woman’s body recovered in SWGH

South West Garo Hills (SWGH) police, on Wednesday, recovered the body of a 70-year-old woman from a fish pond near Ampati petrol pump.
Police identified the woman as Maneshwari Hajong of Chelapara.
Sources state that police were informed of a body floating in the pond after which they contacted the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES).
Police suspect the death to be a case of accidental drowning.
However, they sent the body for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
