Meghalaya: Retrieved miner's body yet to be identified and claimed
East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa informed that an inquest, autopsy and other formalities have been completed, and the body has been kept at the hospital morgue of Khliehriat CHC for identification and claim.

Meghalaya Police on Wednesday informed that the body of a trapped miner that was retrieved from a coal mine at Sutnga in East Jaintia Hills on June 16 is still kept at the hospital morgue of Khliehriat CHC as no one has come forward to identify the body.
East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa informed that an inquest, autopsy and other formalities have been completed, and the body has been kept at the hospital morgue of Khliehriat CHC for identification and claim.
According to the press statement, the person is aged between 25-35 (approximately), and his height is about 5.6 feet (approximately). The person was wearing a green colour t-shirt.

It may be mentioned that on May 30, five miners were trapped at the coal mine in Sutnga, and thereafter, the Indian Navy divers were pressed into action to retrieve the bodies.
The divers had managed to retrieve the body of one of the five miners and, the search operation for the other four is ongoing.
