The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) will soon announce the results of the main examination of the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) Junior Grade, held on January 18, 2020.

MPSC sources, on Friday, informed that the commission is planning to declare the results of the main examination after the Meghalaya High Court, in its order on January 17, refused to interfere with the writ petition challenging the examination results.

“The results of the main examination will be declared soon since there are no pending litigations in court concerning the matter,” informed a source from the MPSC.

The MPSC had issued an advertisement on July 24, 2017, inviting applications from eligible candidates to sit for the Meghalaya Civil Service Junior Grade examination against 38 vacancies.

In the preliminary examination, 576 candidates out of 10,730 qualified for the main examination.

The petitioners had filed a writ petition in the High Court after being aggrieved with the method of selection and procedure adopted in declaring the candidates eligible for the main examination.
