Meghalaya police seize drugs, money at Demthring; two arrested
Meghalaya Police busted a drug racket and apprehended two persons along with seizing psychotropic substance on June 12.
Acting on an intelligence tip-off of a suspected drug courier at Demthring, the Anti Narcotics Task Force cell and a team from Madanrting Police Station proceeded towards the suspect’s residence and during the search operation, 195.84 gm of Heroin was seized in the presence of independent witnesses.
It may be mentioned that another drug peddler was also arrested near the residence and cash worth Rs 3,28,000 was found concealed in a black polythene bag. Further on interrogation, Rs 1,08,600 was also seized from the residence of another peddler.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been lodged against the arrested persons.
