SHILLONG | April 9, 2020:
In the fight against the pandemic COVID-19, the Meghalaya police have managed to come up with self-made protective pieces of equipment like PPE's, masks and even establishing isolation centres in various police battalions across the State.
This initiative of the Meghalaya Police is commendable since there is a shortage of medical equipment like PPE's and masks across the country.
Additional Inspector General of Police (Administration) GK. Iangrai, during the visit to the isolation centre set up at the MLP Ist Battalion at Mawlai Mawiong yesterday, said the police have set up 13 bedded men and women isolation ward and the staff are equipped with self-made protective equipment. The State police have also used all the available resources under its kitty by using tyres as a platform for water tanks to makeshift tents.
