Meghalaya Police assure action after man allegedly kidnaps woman in Phulbari

Meghalaya police have assured action after a 25-year-old woman (name withheld) from Phulbari in West Garo Hills (WGH) district of Meghalaya went missing since January 16, with the family alleging that the victim had been kidnapped by another man from a neighbouring village.

The incident, according to the FIR, took place at about noon of January 16, when the 25-year-old girl went out of her house but never returned home. The family alleged that the girl was kidnapped by the accused and feared the worst.

The family of the 25-year-old has named an accused in the abduction of the woman and sought stern and immediate action to return her to the family.

The FIR, which was filed by the grandmother of the victim, stated that the accused (name withheld) had kidnapped the victim as he too went missing since the same time that the victim went missing.
