Meghalaya: Nongstoin Region Local Taxi Owner and Driver Association lifts strike from Feb 7

Nongstoin Region Local Taxi Owner and Driver Association (NRLTODA) has decided to lift the strike in West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya from February 7 and to resume back its future course of action in the District on Monday.

“The strike has been relaxed to enable people to attend their church services easily with no disruption,” NRLTODA President Alfred Marthong said.

He also expressed gratitude to several Commercial Vehicle Associations for their effort in supporting the strike called by the MJACCV demanding the government to reduce the price of petrol and diesel.

Relating to the problem faced by the public because of the indefinite strike, Marthong said that he will discuss the matter with the leaders of MJACCV to relax the strike to enable people to buy provisions and meet their daily needs.
