Meghalaya: Man sentenced to 15 years’ rigorous imprisonment in POCSO case

NONGSTOIN:
The Court of Special Judge (POCSO), Nongstoin on March 11, convicted an accused person Khlainborlin L Rngaid and sentenced him to 15 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of ₹ 30,000.
Reportedly, the accused was convicted for raping a minor girl on May 2, 2019 at the resident of one Diamond Lyngdoh Rngaid at Umdein village in West Khasi Hills.
It may be noted that a case was registered vide at Nongstoin Police Station.
The accused was found guilty of committing an offence under the POCSO Act, 2012.
Rngaid was arrested immediately and after a thorough investigation, the Honourable Session court had given a favourable judgement.
