Meghalaya: Lockdown imposed in Ri-Bhoi district from May 1

The District administration in Ri Bhoi district on Thursday announced a ‘Lockdown’ in the whole district which will come into effect from May 1 to May 10.
Speaking to mediapersons, Deputy Commissioner R. M Kurbah, informed that the district administration has decided in view of the prevailing situation concerning the increasing positive cases in the district.
“Ri-Bhoi district stands at 160 number of COVID-19 positive cases till date with 4 deaths which is a grave concern,” Kurbah said.
She also added that, therefore to contain the spread of the disease the district administration has announced a ‘Lockdown’ in the entire district, also seeking the cooperation of the public especially the local dorbar to come forward in eradicating the menace of COVID-19.
