SHILLONG:

Congress leader, Mohendro Rapsang, on December 22, felicitated three doctors and 61 accredited social health activist (ASHA) and Anganwadi workers of three health centres in Jaiaw Langsning, lower Mawprem and upper Mawprem for their service towards the community, at Jaiaw Langsning Community Hall. Rapsang is the MLA of the constituency.

Lauding the efforts of the health workers, Rapsang stated, “As their representative, I will lend support to the workers who continue to provide services for the people in the constituency, especially during the pandemic.”

Expressing the hardships faced during the pandemic, the health workers stated how people do not always disclose their sickness or travel history, making it difficult for them to take necessary actions. Some stressed on not having quarantine places for them during the pandemic and said they were grateful that Rapsang took note of the situation and responded accordingly.

Also present on the occasion was the headman, A.R. Sunn, along with the doctors, anganwadi and ASHA workers. Thanking them for their selfless contribution, Sunn emphasised on how they strategise health facilities during the pandemic and are currently involved in mobilising vaccination in the area.
