Meghalaya:  Cryogenic Oxygen Plant inaugurated at Jengjal in West Garo Hills

The plant will cater to the much-needed medical oxygen supply of Garo Hills as well as parts of neighbouring West Khasi Hills, said James after the inauguration.

Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma inaugurated the Cryogenic Oxygen Plant at Jengjal in West Garo Hills on Friday, to mitigate the shortage of medical oxygen supply in the region.

The plant will cater to the much-needed medical oxygen supply of Garo Hills as well as parts of neighbouring West Khasi Hills, said James after the inauguration.

Giving details about the plant, James said, "With the new plant functional, the shortage of medical oxygen supply in the state will not be a hindrance in the treatment of patients, especially in view of the third Covid-19 wave.”

The minister thanked Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma for his constant unwavering support, and the entire team involved in the completion of the setup and installation of the plant.

MDC of Jengjal, Grahambell A. Sangma, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, were among the others present at the inauguration.
