NONGSTOIN:

The construction work of Rambrai Mawlangsu - Mawthung Marwei to Phudumbah road in Meghalaya, has been left over for almost 25 years now.

Sources have mentioned that the deplorable condition of the road has brought a lot of difficulties to the villagers of the area.

Organising Secretary of Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP), Robert Wahlang informed that the construction work of the 11 km road was started way back in 1996.

He also mentioned that the road was meant to connect the Mawlangsu area through Rambrai, however, the construction of the said road is yet to be completed.

Wahlang also stated that besides the road, three bridges had been left out without completion.

The FKJGP of the Phodumbah area unit demanded the State Government through the Public Works Department to look into the matter at the earliest.
