BAGHMARA:

Continuing their endeavour for closer cooperation between the border population and the Border Security Force (BSF), the frontier men in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills district organised another Civic Action Programme (CAP).

The event, organised by the 55th Battalion of the BSF, Sector Tura, was held at the border outpost of Sibbari, about 30 km from the district headquarter in Baghmara.

“The BSF has been continuously conducting various CAPs to serve the border residing population and to create a sense of security among them,” said a release by the BSF.

“The local population also expressed their happiness and gratitude on the friendly gesture of BSF,” it added.

Students and youths from nearby villages presented a variety of cultural shows, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Tura, distributed 17 bicycles to the students.
