Meghalaya: BSF holds Civic Action Program in South Garo Hills

BAGHMARA

The 55 BN BSF, in an ongoing process of fostering better relations with the civilian-border population near Baghmara close to Bangladesh, held a Civic Action Program in the village of Dabram in South Garo Hills (SGH) today.

Under the CAP of the Border Security Force (BSF), a medical camp was organised with close and active co-operation from the district administration and Medical Facility of Civil Hospital, Baghmara.

The camp was formally inaugurated by S K Sharma, DIG, SHQ BSF Tura and TM Sangma, ADC SGH among others.

The event was observed under strict COVID protocols.

410 villagers attended the camp and were provided medical counselling.

As part of COVID awareness, hand sanitisers and masks were also distributed to the villagers.

During this same occasion, a complete solar panel setup with battery backup to illuminate the community centre of the village – Dabram was also handed over to village Nokma (Crossbell Sangma) in the presence of district authorities.

The villagers and the district administration wished and admired the BSF men for helping to create a sense of security and feeling of national togetherness amongst the border population.
