Meghalaya: Mawhati MDC writes to Hek for repairing work at Umtrai PHC and Umlaper Sub-center
Mawhati MDC Charles Marngar has written to Health Minister Alexander Laloo Hek requesting him to repair the quarters of Umtrai PHC and Umlaper Sub-center in Ri-Bhoi.
Apart from repairing work that needs to be done at Umtrai PHC, Marngar said that the water supplied there is unfit for drinking also pointing out that one GNM is required at Umtrai.
For Umlaper Sub-center, he said that immediate renovation and fencing is needed.
The MDC also said 15 villages of Block-II (disputed area) do not have ASHAs and the proposal has been sent to the DM&HO, Ri-Bhoi to the DHS for approval but no steps have been taken by the government till date.
Marngar has also sent a letter to the Director (Distribution), MePDCL, for the smooth functioning of electricity at Umsiang area and different parts of Mawhati constituency.
The local MDC informed that there is no power supply in the Umsiang area for over a month which has caused problems to the PHCs.
