NONGPOH:

With a noticeable increase in the number of active cases in the State, High Risk Contacts (HRC) of COVID positive individuals were reported to have breached the protocols endangering the lives of many.

The Ri Bhoi District administration is working round the clock and has appealed to all CCMCs and Respective Rangbah Shnongs to ensure that the HRC are quarantined for 5 days and if they have any symptoms to reach out on the provided helplines.

It may be mentioned that Meghalaya has been witnessing a surge in cases even with containment measures in place, and this has led the State to re-strategise in going ahead with a complete lockdown in East Khasi Hills which started from 8 pm today to 5 am on May 10.

The active cases in Ri-bhoi district stands at 253.
