"People taking part in the festivals must follow all the guidelines and SOPs put in place. It is my earnest appeal that people maintain vigil and remains cautious," Sangma said, adding that the health department will monitor the situation very closely.

The Health Minister also assured the people that the government is working on the construction of medical colleges in Shillong and Tura on a priority basis.
