SHILLONG:

The Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP) claimed that they received a complaint from the field staff of GVK EMRI 108 that the district in-charge and the administration did not arrange any place of accommodation after duty as they are frontliners in transportation of COVID-19 patients to the hospital and Corona Care Centers.

In a letter addressed to respective Deputy Commissioners, Health department and the Mission Director of National Health Mission, the organization said that workers are not willing to go home to meet their family members as they are apprehensive of the COVID-19 spread.

The organization has urged the in-charge of all districts in Meghalaya in helping to provide the staff of 108 accommodation, food and other facilities that are required with the norms of COVID-19 pandemic.
