Finance Ministry appoints Meghalaya CM as Convenor of inter-state Group of Ministers
Constituted by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India the inter-state Group of Ministers will look into the demand of concession and exemption of GST on COVID relief materials.

SHILLONG:
The Union Finance Ministry has appointed Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad K. Sangma as the Convenor of an inter-state Group of Ministers (GoM).
Constituted by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India the inter-state Group of Ministers will look into the demand of concession and exemption of GST on COVID relief materials.
The group comprises eight members namely Meghalaya CM- Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy CM of Gujarat-Nitinbhai Patel, Deputy CM of Maharashtra-Ajit Pawar, Minister of Transport and Panchayati Raj of Goa-Mauvin Godinho, Minister of Finance of Kerala-K.N. Balagopal, Minister of Finance and Excise of Odisha-Niranjan Pujari, Minister of Finance of Telangana-T. Harish Rao, and Minister of Finance of Uttar Pradesh-Suresh Kr. Khanna.
Terms of reference of the GoM
The GoM shall examine the need for concessions/exemption and accordingly make recommendations on COVID-19 relief materials including medical equipment such as COVID vaccines, drugs and medicines for COVID treatment, testing kits, medical-grade oxygen, pulse oximeters, hand sanitisers, oxygen therapy equipment such as concentrators, generators and ventilators, PPE kits, N95 masks, surgical masks, temperature checking equipment and any other items.
A committee of officers from the centre and states will assist the GoM as convened by the ministerial group.
