Meghalaya: EKH DC orders inquiry into allegations of plastic rice sold in Shillong

The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo informed that an inquiry will be conducted on the allegations of plastic rice sold in the market in Shillong.

Speaking to TNT-The North East Today on Wednesday, Laloo said, “We have asked for an inquiry to be conducted tomorrow and only after it is completed, then we can determine the further course of action.”

The Consumers’ and Farmers Protection Cell of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has written to the Deputy Commissioner requesting her to seize and confiscate the rice packets of Tripal Five Rice brand from selling into the market at Jeep Stand and Iewduh by various wholesalers.
