East Jaintia Hills police rescue two minor girls from Assam’s Kalain

 The EJH Superintendent of Police, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa informed that Acting on the information received about the girls at Khliehriat Women Police Station on September 19 and 20, the EJH police sent a team to Assam and with the help of Assam police managed to track and rescue them from two separate locations in Kalain on September 24.

East Jaintia Hills (EJH) police have rescued two minor girls, who were missing from their home in Khliejriat since September 17, 2021, from Assam’s Kalain, on Saturday.

 The girls have been safely brought back to their hometown and have been handed over to Child Welfare Committee (CWCX) after completion of all the formalities, said a statement issued by the police said.

 The EJH Superintendent of Police, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa informed that two cases of missing girls (aged 13 and 14) were registered at the Khliehriat Women Police Station on September 17, and during the course of the investigation, it transpired that they have been taken to Kalain in Assam.

 Acting on the information received about the girls at Khliehriat Women Police Station on September 19 and 20, the EJH police sent a team to Assam and with the help of Assam police managed to track and rescue them from two separate locations in Kalain on September 24, he added.

 Two abductors, identified as Saydul Islam and Raju Majuib, managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness and hunt to track them are on, the police said.
