Centre sets 1,250 kms road target for Meghalaya under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana

Informing this on December 14, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong  said, “I am very happy to inform the people of the state that the Government of India has already given us the target for this current financial year (to complete) not less than 1,250 kms of PMGSY throughout the state.”

The Centre has set a target to complete 1,250 kilometers of roads in Meghalaya under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during this current financial year.

Informing this on December 14, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong  said, “I am very happy to inform the people of the state that the Government of India has already given us the target for this current financial year (to complete) not less than 1,250 kms of PMGSY throughout the state.”

Tynsong also informed the Centre has so far approved roads in 16 out of 46 community and rural development blocks in the state. “And the balance I am sure they will be able to complete towards the end of this month,” he added. 

Tynsong said the chief engineer and secretary of the PWD have already been asked to start preparing the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
