NONGPOH:

The Ri Bhoi District Administration has once again restricted the movement of heavily loaded vehicles to ply through the Bailey Bridge (Dwar Ksuid) in Shillong Bypass.

The restriction has come up after a few technical defects were reported in the bridge and the requirement of some plank in the bridge, however, the traffic movement is suspended from 14 to 15 May 2021.

Deputy Commissioner Ri-Bhoi District, R.M Kurbah informed that, after some technical defect was intercepted on the Bailey Bridge at Umroi Dwarksuid along Shillong Bypass, the district administration has suspended vehicular movement to prevent any untoward incident.

However, she also informed that vehicles with not over 10 metric tonnes can ply through the concrete RCC bridge.
