Exuding confidence in Borgohain’s win, who switched to BJP recently from the Congress, Sarma said that both Borgohain and former MLA of Thowra, Kushal Dowari have worked tirelessly for the constituency.

The CM also announced several developmental schemes for the constituency including the setting up of a medical college. Sarma also announced that financial assistance to 15,000 families under the government’s Orunodoi Scheme will be increased from Rs 830 to Rs 1000 per month.

Within the next three months, at least 6000 more families in Thowra constituency will be covered under the Orunodoi scheme, he added.
