627 new COVID-19 cases, 327 recoveries in Meghalaya

COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Meghalaya as the state reported 627 new infections, with 12 deaths on Friday.

While 361 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi district accounted for 101 cases. 

Currently, the state has 4014 active cases, and the number of people who recovered from the illness stands at 17,909.

As per the information provided by the DHS (MI) Dr Aman Warr, a total of 5,01,466 people have been tested to date in the state, of which 4,79,263 have been tested negative.

It may be mentioned that the state government has extended the lockdown to May 24 given the increase in the number of cases.
