Meghalaya: WKH DC holds meeting for environment protection

The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, on Monday, held a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner T Lyngwa to discuss the steps taken on environment protection in the area, with special reference to the coal belts.

District Forest Officer, B. Budnah, said that it was important to protect these areas from deteriorating and environmental damages.

He suggested the construction of rooftop water conservation, watershed, tree plantation along the river bank and building drains around the coal mine areas.
