Meghalaya: Cleaning drive under ‘CM’s Youth For Green Campaign’ marks World Water Day

SHILLONG:

The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo, sponsored a cleaning drive of the Nongrah-Lapalang stream and a Water Themed Fun Day for the Mawdiangdiang (Model) Anganwadi Centre on the occasion of World Water Day on Monday.

The programme, organised under the ‘CM’s Youth For Green Campaign’, was conducted with the help of Self-Help Groups of Nongrah and Lapalang, respectively.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the second phase of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) under the theme “Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls,” on the occasion of World Water Day.
