Meghalaya: Axis bank employee abducted in Tura

A 32-year-old banking agent was allegedly abducted from Tura-Dalu road under mysterious circumstances on March 28.

The person was travelling from Guwahati to Tura, sources informed.

According to sources, Jyotirmoy Barma (32) was working as an agent of Axis Bank at Tura in West Garo Hills.

Barma was kidnapped around the Tura area, possibly between Tura – Dalu road on NH 51, sources said.

“A case has been registered and a special investigation team (SIT) led by the SDPO of Dadenggre formed to investigate into the abduction. We are currently conducting search operation for the victim while trying to locate the abductors,” said the Superintendent of Police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar.
