Manipur: Horticulture department to promote the sale of organic oranges

IMPHAL

The Department of Horticulture, Manipur, will promote the sale of organic oranges sourced from Pherzwal district from Monday, January 11.

The Manipur Manipur Agro Pvt. Ltd., under the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) also launched a unique mission to make farmers self-reliant and would allow them to sell their products.

Under the mission, fruits that fail to reach the market on time would be bought by MOMA, giving the farmers an alternative outlet to sell their products.

Taking to his official Twitter Handle Chief Minister N. Biren Singh posted the following tweet, “About 5 MT of Oranges produced by farmers of Pherzwal District which were unable to reach market have been procured by Manipur Agro Pvt. Ltd and will be sold at Rs 90/ kg in the organic outlets of Sanjenthong.”
