Manipur Governor calls for popularising Urdu language

| IMPHAL, March 2, 2019: Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla has said Urdu language needs to be popularised among the people of the state.
Speaking at an interactive session organised by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language on Thursday, she said people should be encouraged to learn the language.
The Council is engaged in promotion, propagation and development of Urdu language across the country through its various schemes.
It runs different courses and currently has 1,41,683 students in 252 districts of 25 states, including Union territories.
