Manipur Education Department to take strict action against teachers if absent during office hours

IMPHAL:

Manipur Education Minister S. Rajen Singh, on Thursday, informed that strict action will be taken against the teaching and non-teaching staff if they are absent from schools or colleges during the office hours.

The Minister said this during an inspection visit at different schools in Imphal West after classes resumed on January 27 following a government order.

Since the classes have resumed, the Education department has already put in place all the precautionary measures for the smooth functioning of the educational institutes.

The department has distributed medical kits such as hand sanitiser, face mask, washing soaps and detergents to schools and colleges as a precautionary measure for COVID-19.

The surprise visit to schools and colleges will be conducted regularly to ensure strict compliance of the order issued by the Education department.

The visit will also check the attendance of the teachers and other staff members as a measure to avoid loss of classes.
