Fliers coming from high risk states to undergo COVID-19 test at Manipur airport

IMPHAL:

The Manipur government on February 23 informed that people coming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will have to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test upon their arrival at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

The notification issued by the Director of Health Services, Manipur, Dr K. Rajo Singh stated that the COVID-19 testing will be implemented on February 24.

Singh said that they have decided to re-start the COVID-19 test of all passengers coming from these five states, as there has been a recent resurgence in the number of COVID-19 infected cases from these said states.

Dr Rajesh Kumar, in his capacity as the Chairman, State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, has ordered to strictly follow its earlier orders.

The size of social gatherings and customary ceremonies should be restricted to 50 or fewer persons and the size of the gathering for religious, sports, entertainment and cultural should be restricted to 100 or fewer persons.
