IMPHAL:

Ahead of the vaccination drive across India this month, the government has instructed states to carry out a dry run for the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine.

The dry run vaccination for all the districts in Manipur was completed on Friday.

Health director Dr K Rajo Singh said, “The vaccination dry run for Manipur was completed successfully and feedback was sent to the Health Ministry after a state-level review meeting of the entire exercise”.

In the first phase on January 2, a dry run was conducted in Imphal West district and Thoubal district, and the remaining districts were to be covered in the second phase.

The dry run vaccination drive was said to have carried out by following the COVID-19 protocols that included maintaining physical distancing of 6 feet from one beneficiary to another and washing of hands.

The beneficiaries were kept for 30 minutes at the observation room to monitor any adverse effects of the vaccine.
