Assam Rifles troops bust militant hideout at Tengnoupal jungle in Manipur

Assam Rifles troops busted a militant hideout inside a thick jungle near Leibi village in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district on Sunday, a press release issued by the office of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) said.

As per the report, the troops launched an operation in the jungle close to Leibi village based on specific intelligence input.

While carrying out a combing operation, troops uncovered a militant hideout and recovered ‘warlike stores’ that involved an M-16 assault rifle, rocket launcher with ammunition and Myanmar currency.

According to sources, no militants were noticed at the hideout, which is located approximately 10 km from the border with Myanmar.

The recovered weapons and the stocks have been delivered to the Tengnoupal police station for further action, the release added.
