Assam Rifles apprehends PLA insurgent in Manipur

IMPHAL:

Assam Rifles troopers under the Thoubal Battalion apprehended an insurgent of the proscribed group People's Liberation Army (PLA) from Andro Khuman Nungyungbi Leikai in Imphal East District of Manipur on Monday.

Acting on specific intelligence, troops of the Thoubal Battalion launched an operation which led to the arrest of the insurgent.

The insurgent was identified as Self-Styled Private Chingakham Premchand Singh, a resident of Andro Khuman Nungyungbi Leikai, Imphal East district.

The apprehended insurgent has been handed over to Andro police station.
