Assam: Ulfa (I) ready to release kidnapped ONGC employee Ritul Saikia 

Ulfa (I) has already announced a unilateral ceasefire for three months because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ulfa (I) chief Paresh Baruah have announced to release kidnapped ONGC employee Ritul Saikia from their custody, hours after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the Ulfa chief for Ritul’s release.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Thursday, Chief Minister Sarma appealed to the Ulfa (I) chief, Paresh Baruah to release Ritul Saikia from their captivity. 

After an hour, Paresh Baruah while talking to an Assam based news channel, announced for the release of Ritul Saikia within 4 days.

The ULFA-I chief praised Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his pro-activeness. 

It seems to be a big development after Ulfa(I) chief Paresh Baruah announced to release Ritul Saikia within four days.
