GUWAHATI:

In a new twist to the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, accused Indrani Mukerjea, on December 16, has written to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stating that her daughter is still alive and the investigation agency should search for her in Kashmir.

Former media executive of INX Media Ltd, Indrani’s revelation came at a time when her bail petition was rejected by the Bombay High Court last month.

In her letter, Indrani stated that she recently came across a woman in prison who said she met Sheena Bora in Kashmir. Hence, she has asked the CBI to look for Sheena Bora in Kashmir.

Apart from the letter, she has also moved to the special CBI court, which is to come up for a hearing soon.

Indrani has been lodged in Byculla Jail in Mumbai since her arrest in 2015 for the alleged murder his daughter, Sheena.

Sheena Bora, an executive working for Mumbai Metro One based in Mumbai went missing on 24 April 2012. In August 2015, Mumbai Police arrested her mother Indrani Mukerjea, her stepfather Peter Mukherjee, and her mother's driver, Shyamvar Pinturam Rai, for allegedly abducting and killing Sheena and subsequently burning her corpse.

In 2016, Indrani Mukerjea’s driver Shyamvar Rai turned an approver in the case. In August this year, the CBI had told a special court in Mumbai that it had closed the investigation in the case.
