Security forces rescue two ONGC employees

Security forces have launched a counter-insurgency operation against the rebel groups in Assam-Nagaland borders to trace the whereabouts of another ONGC employee.

DIBRUGARH:

Two ONGC employees were rescued in a joint operation by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles on Friday night from Nagaland's Mon district.

"After getting specific information about the abducted ONGC employees. We have launched a joint operation and rescued two of them, and one AK 47 has also been recovered," said a source from Assam Rifles.

The rescued employees are identified as Alakesh Saikia and Mohini Mohan Gogoi.

On Thursday, Sivasagar police arrested 14 persons in connection with the abduction. The 14 persons worked as a groundworker of Ulfa(I) and were involved in various activities.
